Has Anyone Ever Told You: Pseudo-Self Portraits

Having been asked, "has anyone ever told you how much you look like [insert brunette actress]?" upon almost every introduction, my identity is often subsumed by someone else's recognizable image; however there are over a dozen different women that my face conjures. Comprised of 12 8x10 photographs in the style of actors' glamour shots, I emulate photographs of 12 celebrities, and in so doing, propose that celebrity identity is indeed mutable and that iconic women are infinitely reproducible. The photographic print version of this work was shown at SculptureCenter in New York City in December, 2011. View Project
